Last month, East Hampton was the first town to receive an allotment of the COVID-19 vaccine from Suffolk County, allowing East Hampton to provide the first vaccine dose for more than 300 eligible recipients – that included local emergency service workers, school staff, and grocery workers – at the East Hampton Town Center for Humanity (former CDCH school building) in Wainscott. On Saturday, March 6, that group will return to the Wainscott site to receive their second vaccine dose.
East Hampton Town will utilize that location to hold additional vaccine clinics as doses become available – and in preparation of that, just launched the East Hampton Town “COVID-19 Vaccine Hub” vaccine information website.
“With NYS and Suffolk County vaccine centers distant from East Hampton and appointments difficult to obtain, the Town of East Hampton outfitted the Center for Humanity as a clinic to serve local residents,” a press release about the site notes.
Residents can pre-register for an appointment at www.ehtownvaccine.org.
“Pre-registration on ehtownvaccine.org does not guarantee an appointment but will allow the town to schedule people for vaccine appointments when clinics are scheduled, based on receiving an allotment of vaccine and the eligibility category,” the Town advises.
In addition to East Hampton Town Center for Humanity, COVID-19 vaccine distribution sites in Suffolk County include SUNY Stony Brook University Innovation and Discovery Center (am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.go), CVS Pharmacy (www.cvs.com), Sun River Health (www.sunriver.org), Walgreen’s Pharmacy (www.walgreens.com), Northwell Health – Huntington (huntington.northwell.edu), Barth’s Pharmacy (barthspharmacy.com), Rite Aid (www.riteaid.com), South Oaks Hospital in Amityville (health.ny.gov), Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood (health.ny.gov), Long Island Community Hospital (BMH) in Patchogue (licommunityhospital.org), Fairfield Properties Ball Park in Central Islip (health.ny.gov), and Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead (health.ny.gov).
