DESCRIPTION:Hamptons JazzFest presents the Tomas Majcherski Quartet at Hamp
 ton Library in Bridgehampton — a FREE community concert featuring a wide
 -ranging program of contemporary jazz\, original compositions\, and explor
 atory ensemble improvisation shaped by influences from New Orleans\, New Y
 ork\, and beyond.\nTomas Majcherski is an East Hampton native and New York
  City-based multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and bandleader who plays sa
 xophones\, clarinets\, and flute. He grew up on the East End of Long Islan
 d\, the son of a painter and a classical pianist\, and went on to study ph
 ilosophy at Columbia University before completing a Master's degree in Jaz
 z Studies at the University of New Orleans.\nIn 2018 Majcherski was awarde
 d the ASCAP Foundation Louis Armstrong Scholarship for his compositions. H
 is work spans contemporary jazz\, avant-garde theater\, early jazz\, and g
 lobal music traditions — most recently with his Sonic Chambers Quartet\,
  whose debut album on 577 Records was praised by Bandcamp Daily as 'wonder
 ful\, wildly melodic and a rhythmic dynamo.'\nThis performance at Hampton 
 Library is free and open to all — a homecoming of sorts for one of the E
 ast End's most adventurous musical voices.
