12th Annual Hamptons Golf Classic To Include Tournament, VIP Dinner And More

“It started out with eighty golfers, which in and of itself would be a very healthy golf outing, and it has grown in variety and number, year after year,” remarked Hamptons Golf Classic founder Zev Norotsky, a well-known brand marketer and event planner. “Looking back, we have filled the void and answered the call. It’s somewhat surreal for me.”

The 12th Annual Hamptons Golf Classic Weekend will take place on Saturday, June 18th and Monday, June 20th at various East End locations. This year, the event will be powered by Absolut Elyx to benefit Water for People, whose mission is to give every person access to reliable and safe drinking water.

The Hamptons Golf Classic was created in 2004 to give an outlet in which Hamptons socialites, executives, and entertainment industry personalities could compete with one another. It gives participants the chance to get out of the office, network, raise money for charity, and have some fun.

A few of this year’s celebrity appearances include Vincent Piazza of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and star of Jersey Boys, CSI NY star Hill Harper, New York Giants offensive guard Justin Pugh and former Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin.

On Saturday, June 18th, the Hamptons Golf Classic Weekend will begin at the Southampton Social Club (256 Elm Street, Southampton) with a private VIP Dinner for 50 guests. The evening includes a multi-course dinner, prepared by a celebrity chef and a cocktail reception at 6 p.m.

On Monday, June 20th, the long-awaited Golf Classic will commence—a day filled with light-hearted competition and charity.

The Hamptons Golf Classic has become a summer ritual thanks to Norotsky. Every year, the Hamptons Golf Classic brings the large Hamptons community together for a day of charity and fun. Michael Strahan, Kelsey Grammer, Russell Simmons, Lorraine Bracco, Amanda Hearst, Billy Crudup, Bethany Frankel, Bryan Greenberg, Anthony Anderson, Rocco DiSpirito and more are just a few of the influencers and celebrities that have participated in this charitable event.

“There’s a very specific reason we chose to work with Water for People this year,” said Norotsky. “It’s part of our partnership with the Absolut Elyx brand. It’s a cause very near and dear to the CEO of Absolut Elyx. It’s something we’re really excited to bring awareness to. Most people don’t realize the vodka is 60 percent water, so I think there’s a really natural extension there from the brand standpoint. I love the way it’s positioned for us to give back: for every bottle of Absolut Elyx purchased, a week’s worth of clean drinking water will be given.”

Participants have much to look forward to from a charity and social standpoint, including curated experiences at each hole from a variety of brands.

The twelfth year of this Golf Classic looks very different from the eleven other years of its existence and that is the reason for its true success.

“Everything is different this year. That’s the secret of the success to this event,” shared Norotsky. “To do something for twelve years, you have to constantly reinvent the program, create exciting, new, innovative ways to keep people coming back year after year. We have a tremendous group of golfers every summer that come out for this event. I think the secret sauce, if you will, is that every year we’re able to push the envelope on the hospitality side, celebrity side and the programming side to make sure they’re always engaged and excited about this event.”

A few of the brand partners featured at this weekend’s event includes Lanai, Mohegan Sun, and D’Angelco. There will also be a VIP gifting suite from Lanai Collection and a longest drive competition courtesy of Mohegan Sun Golf Course. In addition to signature cocktails from Absolut Elyx, there will be hospitality and gifting from D’angelico Guitars, Heineken, Chefs Cut Jerky, Redbull, Pop Chips and Zico Coconut Water.

  • Interview: “Ragtime” Director Will Pomerantz Talks Musicals, and Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater is presenting the Musical Ragtime August 2nd through August 28th.

Why is RAGTIME so relevant now?

Sadly, I would say that RAGTIME is even more relevant now than when it was first produced in 1997. The issues it examines – the role of race in our country’s history, the role of immigrants, and the struggle for women to achieve equality – are powerfully resonant today, and demand deep reflection and examination. And the fact that such issues are dealt with through storylines featuring richly drawn characters and writing of such high quality, makes it even more imperative to produce this wonderful show now. @baystreettheater
