Do you consider yourself a wine aficionado? If so, join Sun River Health on Friday, June 11 for The Wine Tasting Event at Claudio’s in Greenport.
The evening will support Sun River Health Foundation’s Agricultural Workers’ Health Fund. “Sun River Health is committed to ensuring continued access to the health care services the region’s agricultural workers need and deserve,” Sun River Health CEO Anne Nolon noted. The Fund provides healthcare for thousands of agricultural workers and their families, who rely on Sun River Health for primary and preventive care.
The Wine Tasting will get underway at 6:30 p.m. Participants will sample three rows of wines that range from white to rosé to red. Then their wine knowledge will be put to the test. If contestants correctly answer the questions, they will move on to the next round – with the last competitor standing taking home the prestigious honor of King or Queen of Long Island Wine Country for 2021.
Additionally, Sun River Health will host its annual Honoring the Hands benefit in-person and digitally this year. The in-person event on Sunday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. will be held at Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack. The virtual event will take place on Thursday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. Both gatherings will also support the Agricultural Workers’ Health Fund.
“Agriculture is a key economic driver in New York State, and a healthy workforce is key to making it sustainable in the long-term,” Nolon added.
