Jazz Age Themed Soiree To Take Over Southampton’s Rogers Mansion

Southampton History Museum will host its annual Ties & Tales, a joint fundraiser for the Museum and Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF), at the Rogers Mansion in Southampton on Saturday, November 9.

“This event brings together dog lovers and party animals (the human kind) for this Jazz Age themed event,” Tom Edmonds, Executive Director, Southampton History Museum, relayed.

From 5 to 7 p.m., attendees will be transported to the Roaring Twenties during the soiree that will feature sumptuous cocktails, delectable hors d’oeuvres, enchanting tunes from the 1920s and 30s, and the chance to explore the stunning 20-room Rogers Mansion, which was developed during Southampton’s Gilded Age.

“Guests will enjoy prohibition era cocktails, plentiful hors d’oeuvres and 1920s music,” Edmonds noted. “It all takes place at the 20-room Rogers Mansion, one of the few Gilded Age mansions remaining with original furnishings.”

Last month, Southampton History Museum partnered with Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation to present its yearly Paws on Parade benefit. An amusing visual presentation of highlights from the gathering will be showcased, as will adoptable pets that can be found in the Mansion’s main room.

Additionally, High Style in the Gilded Age: Southampton 1870-1930, an exhibition highlighting Southampton’s stylish trendsetters of the time, many of whom were regularly featured in the local and Manhattan society columns, will be on display.

Admission to Ties & Tales is $75 for general admission and $50 for guests 35 years old and younger. After Friday, November 8 at 4 p.m., ticket prices increase to $100 and $75.

The Museum’s mission is to “preserve and promote the history and culture of Southampton by engaging diverse audiences in our shared heritage.”

SASF is a non-profit organization that devotes themselves to the homeless pets of the East End community, with the mission of placing these lovable pets in permanent homes. Overall, the Shelter’s goal is to “promote and nourish the bond between people and animals through adoption, education and community outreach.”
