Hank’s Pumpkin Town is a Hamptons staple, and that’s just the way it is, traffic be damned. Maybe it’s the comically giant Adirondack chair, maybe it’s the candied apples, or maybe it’s just everyone’s desire to be a kid again. Whatever it is, Hank’s Pumpkin Town has captured the imaginations of children and parents of the Hamptons, drawing in guests by the thousands all Fall long.
For about $20 a person, you get full access to Hank’s Pumpkin Town and all of its glory. There is actually an impressive amount of things to do at this farm. There are three interactive corn mazes that you can run around and get lost in, there are narrated wagon rides through the cornfields and through the pumpkin fields, there is pumpkin picking, there is apple picking and there is a wonderful array of food at this place. Want some kettle corn or perhaps some homemade apple pie with ice cream? They got it here. In the mood for a homemade doughnut or fresh roasted corn on the cob? They got that too. There is even a place where you can do some gem mining with your little one, all in the name of good old-fashioned fun. And who doesn’t need that these days?
The gem mining setup is really adorable. A large wooden structure complete with running water to pan for gems, fossils, and seashells is spread throughout the farm and kids can “work” for Hank’s Pumpkin Town Mining Company. Slosh your mining pan in the water and get to work finding your treasures.
It’s a whacky, zany, weird, wonderful, silly, goofy, and brilliant place to go for a weekend day with your family.
