How did you get your start in real estate?
My real estate career started back in the 90s when I worked as a paralegal for a real estate attorney. In 2003 I took a position as the Village Clerk for the Village of West Hampton Dunes, a 2 ½ mile waterfront community on Dune Road in the Hamptons. I was so enamored of the area and all it had to offer, I decided to get my real estate license.
As one of the more seasoned real estate agents in the Hamptons, what is it that sets you apart from the others?
There are truly so many great real estate agents in the Hamptons. However, I think what sets me apart is the extensive knowledge I have from the 14 years of experience as the village clerk of a waterfront community in the Hamptons. This, along with the passion I have for what I do and the relationships I make while connecting buyers and sellers, sets me apart from so many others.
What is your favorite area of the Hamptons, and why do you love it?
There are so many favorite areas in the Hamptons it’s tough to just pick one! Each one is so different and special and can appeal to many different people and their desired experiences.
What do you think is an upcoming area in the Hamptons?
Remsenburg. Since the pandemic, Remsenburg is suddenly booming! Stunning waterfront properties and close proximity to the city, Main Street Westhampton Beach and ocean beaches just minutes away.
What is the best advice you can give a second homebuyer when searching for a home in the Hamptons?
Location, location, location. I know it’s redundant, but it never changes…you can’t change the location, you can always change the house.
What is the most personally satisfying part of your work?
Meeting people, getting to know who they are, where they are from and what their dream home in the Hamptons would look like, then finding it for them. Ultimately creating lasting business relationships and friendships along the way.
What are your favorite things to do in Westhampton Beach?
Dining at the great restaurants, ice cream on Main Street, concerts on the village green, farmers market on Saturdays in town, 4th of July fireworks and relaxing at the beach with friends…kayaking & paddle boarding.
How has the renovation of Main Street changed the area?
With the newly renovated Main Street came newly constructed buildings, restaurants such as LT Burger, the addition of many new boutique shops, coffee shops and more. The fresh new look and appeal has given it more of an updated Hamptons look and feel which has attracted many more people coming from the city looking to buy in the Hamptons, but now with a much shorter commute.
Has the area changed due to Covid? Is it really year-round?
I don’t think that the area has necessarily changed. It is still that special place that people have come to know and love as their vacation spot. However, there are more people making the Hamptons their primary residence due to the pandemic, especially since more companies are now working remotely, it has made it easier to combine beach and work life.
What are your favorite places to eat in the Hamptons?
Flora, Westhampton Beach, Centro, Hampton Bays, Mary’s, Speonk
When you’re not working, what’s your favorite way to spend your time?
With my family, my grandkids and my friends.
