Let’s face it, we all believe that our lives in the Hamptons could be a reality show. If you work in real estate, construction, landscaping, government — really anything that has the backdrop of the Hamptons in it — you’re in for some pretty great drama. I think I would even watch a reality show about housekeepers in the Hamptons.
With that being said, I think Discovery may have nailed it with doing a reality show with the staff of 75 Main restaurant in Southampton. The new show, “Serving the Hamptons” sounds like it’s going to be really good. Zach Erdem is one of the few celebrity local chefs and restaurant owners who really puts himself out there for the public to judge and to see for the sake of promoting his restaurant and you gotta respect him for it. Zach’s life has not been easy to get where he is today, and it still isn’t — the rent payment on his restaurant, the fear of losing it all after one bad summer, dealing with Covid directly affecting his business. His life is a huge challenge that few people would be able to handle.
It’s gonna make for some great freaking television.
Not only do mega high profile people have dinner at 75 Main, but the scene there is super cool. Most of the bartenders and servers hail from other countries and pile into the staff house of 75 Main which is going to be a big part of the show and will surely be filled with love interests and drama. The stress of the business will be on full display like all of our favorite restaurant reality shows, and the excitement of a summer night in the Hamptons will make this thing a hit I’m sure.
Unapologetically, Zach is an immigrant success story. I remember meeting him when he first launched 75 Main with cash he had saved from literally pumping gas and cleaning dishes. He willed himself to become a business owner, a community leader and now surely a reality star on one of the largest networks in the world.
Thank God for America.
