Looking for a unique and luxurious workout experience in the Hamptons? Located at 45 Skimhampton Rd in East Hampton, Rasa Pilates offers personalized 50-minute Pilates sessions for individuals, duets, or groups of up to 4 people.
Hamptons.com had the privilege of visiting Rasa’s studio for a private lesson and to learn more about her journey.
Originally from Lithuania, Rasa, the founder of Rasa Pilates, has been fascinated by the art of movement since her early years. After moving to the United States, specifically East Hampton, about 23 years ago, Rasa dedicated herself to mastering the English language.
Driven by a desire to explore movement on a scientific level, Rasa joined the PTA program at Suffolk County Community College, earning an associate’s degree in Applied Science and becoming a Licensed Physical Therapist. Rasa’s passion for dance and physical rehabilitation led her to Polestar Education, where she graduated as a certified Pilates Rehab professional.
After a decade of being a Pilates student and intensive training under Ellie Herman of Ellie Herman Pilates and Polestar Pilates Education, Rasa decided it was time to open her own studio in East Hampton.
Following a brief discussion about injuries and Pilates experience, participants will receive a personalized modern reformer Pilates workout. Rasa crafts tailored exercises to strengthen and stretch the body where it’s needed most.
Rasa shared with Hamptons.com, “Similar to dance, Pilates emphasizes technicality and movement quality. While an exercise may seem a certain way, without engaging the correct muscles, you won’t tap into their full potential. This is why the hands-on experience we provide is invaluable. Larger Pilates classes lack the one-on-one attention required for a workout like ours.”
Aside from teaching Pilates, Rasa’s love for movement goes beyond the dance studio and Pilates reformer. During her free time, Rasa spends her time swimming, biking, running, and even stand-up paddle boarding. When Rasa is not exploring how movement is a true therapy for her, she also proudly serves as an Ocean Rescue volunteer for East Hampton.
Rasa is always excited to see new faces in her studio, where she can share her many years of knowledge with you. To book your very first class and learn more, visit Rasa Pilates.
