Head Chef of Almond, known for its farm-to-kitchen ingredients, in the heart of Bridgehampton, Jason Weiner, has been chosen as feature chef for the 16th year at the annual East Hampton ‘Outstanding in the Field’ event. The culinary night will kick off this Sunday at Fireplace Farm located at 2 Hog Creek Lane in East Hampton.
Weiner will be showcasing his culinary skills alongside guest winemaker Channing Daughters Winery and guest producers Sagaponack Farm Distillery and Springs Brewery. Fireplace Farm, owned by Oliver and Maxwell Ryan, is farmed by a good friend of Jason Weiner’s, Paul Hamilton. The property overlooks the waters of Gardiners Bay promising incredible views for all who attend.
Outstanding in The Field boasts it is a “traveling celebration of what connects us all.” The experience was founded in 1999 by Jim Denevan in an effort to reverse the normal dining experience. Instead of dining traditionally at a restaurant, where fresh ingredients are combined in a kitchen and brought out to you, seated at a table, Outstanding in The Field brings you to source; dining al-fresco taken to another level. No walls separate you from the farms, vineyard fields, or fishing docks from which your produce is sourced, creating an eclectic “roving restaurant without walls,” that is rebuilt anew every morning.
If you’re looking for the newest dining experience, be sure to check out the delights of Jason Weiner and libations of Channing Daughters Winery with a view like no other on the gorgeous farming fields of Fireplace Farm.
