Throughout the year, the Southampton History Museum presents ghost-hunting experiences with the help of Long Island Paranormal Investigators. The next ghost hunting event at Rogers Mansion, located at 17 Meeting House Lane in Southampton, will take place on Saturday, November 18th from 7:30-11:00 p.m. in two groups.
Participants will spend the night joining the experts of Long Island Paranormal Investigators as they explore the 1843 Rogers Mansion. During the night of ghost hunting, paranormal theories will be tested, along with eerie tales shared, and even the potential for new ones to be created. After the intro to the evening, the tour will be a 45-minute investigation of the Mansion where new theories will be put to the test to expose any paranormal that may be lurking within.
This has been a longstanding event with the partnership between Southampton History Museum and Long Island Paranormal Investigators. LIPI is a nonprofit group, and the longest paranormal investigation team in operation on Long Island. They are devoted to helping people understand and cope with paranormal activity by bringing their expertise in scientific investigation methods.
In addition to these tours, they also offer investigation services for people or families who are experiencing paranormal activity in their homes and business spaces. They aim to put these situations in a perspective that can be understood and come up with solutions on best practices to deal with this sort of activity.
LIPI was founded 20 years ago in 2003 by Michael Cardinuto and Robert Levine. They decided to create this group after an exploration of an old hospital building on Long Island, during which they heard inexplicable disrupting noises in the building. From there, they started researching and began to learn about the countless ghost stories and legends of Long Island. They continue to conduct investigations all around Long Island ever since that first encounter, and they have extended their searches to New York City, New York State, and surrounding areas.
The group uses digital video and audio, along with high-speed photography, IR temperature, and electromagnetic radiation detection devices. They use only science and technology for their paranormal investigations and do not rely on any sort of occult rituals with no basis in scientific experimentation.
