The Neo-Political Cowgirls, a women’s dance theatre company founded by Kate Mueth, is inviting the entire East End community to witness an epic musical throw down during the Second Annual Battle of the Fantasy Girl Bands at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett. Local legends Nancy Atlas and Inda Eaton will serve as the competition’s judges and the evening’s emcees.
“Our annual Talkhouse band battle exudes the core energy of The Neo-Political Cowgirls which is female creative power diving deep into the unknown to tap new-found bravery and prowess in order to empower and serve our community,” explained Mueth.
If you’re part of an all-female band or know a talented group, it’s not too late to enter to compete for the prestigious NPC Rockers of 2017 title.
In addition to listening to some fierce sets – including one from headliner spitnkitn, attendees can support NPC through a Chinese Auction with prizes and experiences from local businesses, Artists, The NBA Players Association, and other amazing items.

The Neo-Political Cowgirls’ mission is to provide “a space for women and girls from all walks of life to come to process into dance theatre their experiences, concerns, and spirit for the sake of sharing, in the form of professional performance or work-in-process presentations, with an audience.” NPC produces original theater and also hosts workshops for all ages. Currently, NPC is presenting Young Cowgirls Set Sail at Guild Hall in East Hampton. The workshop for 8 to 13-year-olds offers imaginative investigation, creative bonding, and authenticity building expertise.
“Funds from this wildly exuberant night go to support the tireless education arm of NPC in our local community – serving projects like The Young Cowgirls, January Girls, summer workshops and our newest creation, Dude’s Eye View,” Mueth added.
The Second Annual Battle of the Fantasy Girl Bands will take place on Thursday, November 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Stephen Talkhouse is located at 161 Main Street in Amagansett. For tickets or more information about The Neo-Political Cowgirls, visit www.npcowgirls.org.
