Garden Partygoers will have first access to the beautiful array of plants, as well as splendid sips and delicious hors d’oeuvres, on Friday, May 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. The Plant Sale will follow on Saturday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“Proceeds from this event support Garden Club initiatives in beautification, education and conservation within the local community and on state and national levels,” Mason explained.
Locally, the funds from the Garden Party and Plant Sale have helped the Garden Club design and maintain the Mimi Meehan Native Plant Garden at Clinton Academy in East Hampton, Rachel’s Garden at Mulford Farm in East Hampton, the Millstone Garden, The Brick Courtyard Garden at the East Hampton Library, and the Pollinator Garden at East Hampton Town Hall. One of the Club’s latest projects is recreating and installing new gardens at Thomas Moran House in East Hampton.
The Garden Club of East Hampton was founded in 1914 and has been a member of The Garden Club of America since 1915. It was incorporated in the State of New York in 1998. The Club’s mission “is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, to share advantages of membership by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications, and to restore, improve and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvements.”
Admission to the Cocktail Party and Silent Auction is $50. Tickets will be available at the door. Admission to the Plant Sale is free.
