The Wine Stand at Wölffer Estate

Memorial Day marks the start of the East End’s time to shine, which means new spots—along with old favorites—to shop, dine, and relax. Check out our hottest tips to have the coolest season!

SHOPPING

There’s nothing like shopping on a rainy day—or a sunny one! Here are some new stores around town we suggest you stroll into.

Sagaponack General Store

The recently restored Sagaponack General Store officially reopened this past April. Founded in 1950, this establishment is like taking a walk through Sagaponack’s rich history. The newly renovated general store offers its own honey and flowers, locally grown fruits and vegetables, sandwiches, soups, salads, baked goods, and more. 542 Sagg Main Street, Sagaponack

180 the Store

Tribeca-based 180 the Store landed in Amagansett last season and has returned for its second year on the East End. This space showcases an edited selection of its assortment of men’s and women’s collections, accessories, homeware, art, and furniture, featuring designers such as Ashley Hicks, Frama, Chimala, Album di Famiglia, and Sofie D’Hoore. 303 Main Street, Amagansett

Grey/Ven

Known for its sophisticated styles, Los Angeles–based Grey/ Ven came to East Hampton last summer with a brand-new flagship location. Last season, the brand sold its summer collection of linens, leather, cotton, and cashmere exclusively in the Hamptons. We’re eager to see what the designer has lined up for this year. 53 The Circle, East Hampton

STAYS

If you’re just visiting or in need of a staycation, the East End has some new hotels and inns for you to visit this season.

The Hedges Inn

Hospitality “It” couple Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall acquired the historical Hedges Inn in East Hampton earlier this year. As the current owners of The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, the Wetenhalls are committed to preserving the Hedges Inn’s long history. The couple has said that there were some minor changes being made to gear up for the summer. This 13-room classic inn is a must-visit! 74 James Lane, East Hampton

Three Ducks Hotel

The Seabreeze Motel in the heart of Westhampton Beach was given a serious makeover and transformed into Three Ducks, the Hamptons’ latest boutique hotel. Co-owners Elizabeth Bakhash and Randall Stone have brought on Joseph Montag of the famed Topping Rose House as Three Duck’s general manager to ensure they connect with the local clientele. The revamped hotel has a garden-like feel and is the perfect place for guests to kick back after a long day at the beach. 19 Seabreeze Avenue, Westhampton

Offshore Montauk

A brand-new oceanfront hotel has hit Montauk’s stunning coast. Offshore Montauk is set to debut this summer. The 43-key hotel has a variety of rooms—including beachview kings, ocean-view suites, and private two-bedroom cottages—for all types of travelers. The new space also features several amenities, such as a large pool and next-generation spa. 71 Souuth Emerson Avenue, Montauk

The Sagaponack

The Sagaponack has undergone a multimillion-dollar renovation and is now ready for summer guests. The 30-room hotel offers Main Inn guest rooms, bungalows, studios, a heated outdoor pool, and exclusive beach passes. Hamptonites can expect the full East End treatment here! 3720 Montauk Highway, Sagaponack

Southampton Inn

The enchanting and beloved Southampton Inn continues to delight its guests. The classically charming hotel has 90 guest rooms featuring inviting décor that mirrors the coastal charm of the region. 91 Hill Street, Southampton

BEAUTY & WELLNESS

The Hamptons is the perfect place to unwind and take a breather. Discover some new wellness spots taking over the area this summer.

Kevyn Zeller Pilates East Hampton

Renowned Pilates expert Kevyn Zeller’s East Hampton studio is set to open this summer. This exclusive boutique spot is offering core collective sessions with a maximum of four participants per class. 66 Newtown Lane, Suite 1, East Hampton

Wave Wellness Southampton

Wave Wellness has expanded its Sag Harbor flagship with this brand-new location, which offers a variety of treatments, including lymphatic massages, contour and sculpting, and skincare, as well as hot yoga, Pilates classes, and more. 15b Hill Street, Southampton

Post House

Post House is offering an all-inclusive fitness experience. Guests can engage in weight lifting, Pilates, personal training, and master classes. Plus, who wouldn’t want to stroll down to Sagtown Coffee after a tough workout? 31 Long Island Avenue, Sag Harbor

THE HUB

THE HUB, aka Health Unity Beauty, is the hottest new wellness destination in the Hamptons. This curated event and shopping experience will showcase a collection of brands focused on healthy living and luxury, including Skinney Medspa, Moke, Crescala Collective, and Hampton Sun. Local Alex Vinash is creative director of THE HUB, serving as the space’s interior designer. Fitness influencer Isaac Boots will have a 15-week residency at THE HUB starting on May 24, where he’ll be offering his TORCH’D classes. 2183 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton

DINING

With its plentiful farms and fresh seafood, the Hamptons is home to some of the most popular restaurants in the country. Check out these new spots!

Gurney’s Gigi’s Restaurant

The iconic Gurney’s Montauk resort announced that it’s opening its own namesake restaurant this summer. Gigi’s will feature seafood and locally sourced ingredients and a seaside dining experience to bring its signature coastal charm to life. A menu has not yet been announced, but stay tuned! 290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk

Crazy Pizza East Hampton

The Altamarea Restaurant Group is bringing Crazy Pizza to East Hampton this summer after a great response to its Soho location in NYC. This Hamptons spot will have the same hand-tossed, theatrical service with elevated Italian classics. Crazy Pizza offers a unique dining experience that surpasses the average pizza joint. 47 Montauk Highway, East Hampton

Wayan and Ma•dé Summer Residency at EHP Resort & Marina

Ochi Latjuba and Cedric Vongerichten of NYC restaurants Wayan and Ma•dé are back in the Hamptons for another summer residency at EHP Resort & Marina from May 22nd to August 31st. The husband-and-wife restaurant duo will be offering their signature Southeast Asian flair. 295 Three Mile Harbor Hog Creek Road, East Hampton

Mary Lou’s Montauk

If you love the recently opened Mary Lou’s lounge in Palm Beach, you’ll be happy to know that this luxe new nightlife concept is coming to Montauk. Mary Lou’s MTK will bring the timeless opulence of the 1970s and ’80s in Palm Beach along with luxury dining, drinks, and dancing. The interior of the Montauk space is inspired by Berto’s Bait and Tackle in Palm Beach. 474 West Lake Drive, Montauk

PARTY

Palma Day Club at The Montauk Beach House

The Montauk Beach House is welcoming Palma Day Club to its luxury space every Saturday beginning Memorial Day Weekend. This new series of live music will feature artists such as Sam Feldt, Sidepiece, and It’s Murph. 55 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk

HAMPTONS CLASSICS

We love all the new shops and markets popping up around town, but there’s nothing like our time-honored faves.

Navy Beach Montauk

Local favorite restaurant Navy Beach Montauk reopened for the season this past April. Situated on Fort Pond Bay, Navy Beach is a prime dining location of the summer. The restaurant is offering an array of new menu items this season, including shrimp tempura hand rolls, tuna crudo lettuce wraps, and bucatini pomodoro. 16 Navy Road, Montauk

Pierre’s

Pierre’s is a staple Hamptons dining experience! The French restaurant’s location on Main Street makes it the perfect lunch and dinner spot. Pierre’s also has its own market, which offers smoothies, pastries, and ice cream for Hamptonites on the go. 2468 Main Street, Bridgehampton

Loaves & Fishes Foodstore

Loaves & Fishes Foodstore in Sagaponack is a great destination for prepared gourmet foods, including fresh seafood, meats, soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. If you don’t feel like cooking, Loaves & Fishes Foodstore is a must-visit shop! 50 Sagg Main Street, Sagaponack

Wölffer Estate Vineyard

Wölffer Estate Vineyard is the major location for local wines. With its vast vineyard in Sagaponack and wine stand just down the road, there’s always something buzzing around the estate. Guests can enjoy wine tastings, unique dining experiences, and stunning views at this picturesque property. 139 Sagg Road, Sagaponack

Parrish Art Museum

For connoisseurs of art and beautiful things, the Parrish Art Museum is a must-visit. This summer, it will be displaying artist Sean Scully’s The Albee Barn, Montauk through September 21st. 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill

  • Whether you are walking the fast-paced streets of New York City or taking a leisurely beach stroll in the Hamptons, there’s a slight chance you might run into Elias Friedman, known online as “The Dogist.” His adoration of dogs, combined with his passion for photography, has led him to gain over 7 million followers on Instagram. The audience at his recent Guild Hall show reflects how much people truly love their dogs and how Elias does so much more than simply take picture-perfect dog portraits. He can capture the beautiful bond between man and his best friend. His book, This Dog Will Change Your Life, is already a New York Times bestseller. Guild Hall’s lobby was filled with fans excited to get their copy signed.

His guests included local dog lovers and friends of ARF (Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons). Attendees had front-row seats to a “Dogist”-style encounter: a casual conversation about how the dog entered the owner’s life, followed by a quick photo shoot revealing Elias’ methods for capturing the dog’s attention (hint: It’s dog noises and treats).

I had the pleasure of talking to Elias about how “The Dogist” came to be, rescue organizations, and the Hamptons.

Let’s go back to the beginning. What inspired you to dive into photography?

We had a dark room because my dad was an amateur photographer, and I’d always liked cameras and gadgets. We had a couple of Labrador retrievers who were sort of my first muses and would happily sit for pictures. I was taking dog pictures from a young age and then fast forward to 2012 in New York City I was let go from my job and saw what other street photographers were doing like Humans of New York and The Sartorialist and thought why isn’t someone doing that for dogs and I thought I wanted to be the person, I dusted off my camera and the rest is kind of history. It took off pretty quickly because it turns out people like dogs just as much as I do.

  • The Hamptons have seen their fair share of collaborations and takeovers this summer. Still, nothing compares to The h.wood Group and Chase Sapphire Reserve’s transformation of Montauk hotspot Mary Lou’s into Delilah Montauk.

The four-day takeover combined unforgettable dining experiences with show-stopping live entertainment featuring performances by Zack Bia, Alesso, Gwen Stefani, and DJ Pee.Wee (Anderson Paak).

Exclusively for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders, diners were treated to white glove hospitality and Delilah’s staples, including the famous chicken tenders and tuna tartare, and bold twists on Hamptons classics like lobster rolls, striped bass crudo, and crab and avocado toast.
