Few restaurants in the Hamptons command the level of respect that Sant Ambroeus in Southampton does. Located right in the village, it offers indoor and outdoor dining, as well as a café area where you can stop by for a quick coffee or gelato. The restaurant is tough to beat.
With a truly Italian pedigree, Sant Ambroeus is a rare combination of luxury and staple appeal. When you think of breakfast there, you might typically think of grabbing something from the café area without table service. However, breakfast with table service at Sant Ambroeus is a special Hamptons experience not to be missed.
The menu is extensive. We arrived with our kids and ordered the Avocado Toast, French Toast with berries, Scottish smoked salmon, and scrambled eggs for the kids to share. All I can say is—WOW. The standout for me was the French toast, which was unbelievably delicious and came with cream and berries to keep things feeling fresh and wholesome.
The restaurant is vibrant and full of life, yet incredibly luxurious at the same time. Our meal was so enjoyable, we didn’t want it to end—so much so that we finished it off with scoops of strawberry gelato, which was a real treat for the kids.
Every bite tasted like farm-to-table quality, and we never felt rushed, even during the peak of the season. Italian hospitality shines through, with several staff members checking in to make sure we were happy, offering more coffee, or anything else we might need. It’s so well run, so beautiful, and so much fun. We’ll definitely be back.
