The Hamptons Jewelry Show’s highly anticipated debut at the Southampton Fairgrounds, taking place July 24–27, will showcase over 80 exhibitors, including world-renowned designers, top estate jewelers, contemporary watchmakers, and rising talents. Exhibitors are hand-selected by curator and 40-year jewelry veteran Hilary Joy Diaz, ensuring a thoughtfully curated offering across eras, aesthetics, and price points.
Participating designers and dealers include Ann Ziff of Tamsen Z, De Beers Award-winner Cornelis Hollander, estate jewelry dealer The Back Vault, Thailand-based contemporary jeweler Mousson Atelier, and luxury certified pre-owned timepiece specialist Phigora Watches.
Hamptons.com sat down with Rick Friedman—one of the Hamptons’ most accomplished event producers—curator Hilary Joy Diaz, and the teams behind the brands Tamsen Z and Oni.
What inspired the creation of the Hamptons Jewelry Show, and how does it build on your success with ArtHamptons?
Rick Friedman: After 19 years of pioneering art collecting as the new sport of the Hamptons, we understand who the guests are, and that they desire rare and beautiful things. Contemporary jewelry designers and goldsmiths see themselves as artists, working not on canvas, but with gold, diamonds and stones, making wearable art. So, The Hamptons Jewelry Show is an extension of the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, in keeping with the elite and exclusive Hamptons branding.
Also the Pavilion structure cost $1.5 million to assemble for the art fair, and then I just tore it down – so in 2025, we kept it up 9 days longer for an innovative second fair.
How has your art, media, and technology background influenced how you approach producing this show?
Rick Friedman: Our team has produced 35 prestigious fine art fairs across the nation- in each market being the first and number one art show, so we are very experienced in show production, operations, and promotion. Our goal in producing a “direct to the public” was to provide enormous savings value to our local guests, as we are eliminating wholesaler and retailer markups, and giving our cherished attendees the opportunity to meet, build relationships, and buy directly from 80 of the most respected and renowned contemporary jewelry designers, and esteemed estate jewelry dealers in the world. What are the key trends or shifts you’re seeing in the jewelry world today, and how are those reflected in this year’s show?
Hilary Joy Diaz (Curator): The key trends and shifts that I am experiencing in the jewelry world today are minimalist and customizable jewelry. There is a strong focus on ethical and sustainable practices. Statement pieces, vintage inspired designs and the resurgence of pearls, in all shapes, especially baroque in multiple colors are extremely popular especially after Harry Styles, Pharrell Williams and many other trend setters are making strong statements wearing them. Unisex jewelry that appeals to all genders are in Vogue. Consumers are looking to design one of a kind pieces for their unique tastes and identities, including myself. Chunky and stiletto earrings along with oversized rings and sculptural mixed metal and exotic gemstone creations are making bold statements. I feel your face is the Picasso and your earrings are the frame and won’t leave my home without fabulous earrings and a color pop of lip gloss. With that being said, as far as sustainable pearl farming practices are gaining much more attention, highlighting the importance of ethical sourcing from around the world.
I haven’t mentioned lab grown diamonds mainly because I am not an advocate of them. Even DeBeers have announced that they will not be growing them. I feel that they are a fad that will go by the wayside within a few years. After all a Diamond is a girls best friend!
What standout pieces or designers should attendees be especially excited to see?
Hilary Joy Diaz (Curator): As far as my favorite designers I feel that everyone of them that I have personally curated for months have very unique and different styles and designs. They are all top notch in their crafts respectively.
What drew you to participate in the Hamptons Jewelry Show, and how does it compare to other international fairs?
Tamsen Z: The Hamptons Jewelry Show offers an intimacy and personal connection with our clients, in a setting that they are most comfortable. It’s a gathering of collectors who truly appreciate and understand the heart and craftsmanship behind each piece. There’s a relaxed, summer atmosphere out East, a shared love for the exceptional and uncommon that resonates with the ethos of Tamsen Z.
While global fairs can be grand and exhilarating, the Hamptons allow for meaningful conversation—storytelling, really—and that’s where Tamsen Z jewelry comes alive.
Can you share the story behind one of the pieces you’re showcasing this year?
One of the most striking pieces I’m showcasing this year is a black opal and diamond ring—set in platinum with scalloped diamond-set frame. The opal is Australian, and extraordinarily rare, with a vivid, celestial play-of-color that shifts from electric blue to neon green and undertones of violet. It feels almost like wearing a piece of ocean.
What makes this particular opal so special—beyond its scale and saturation—is its painterly texture. There’s a depth to it, like looking into a stained glass, lit from within. I wanted the setting to echo that waterlike quality, so the setting embraces the opal in a halo of waves, with pavé diamonds adding a shimmer of light.
For me, this ring is a perfect example of what jewelry can be—it’s a piece that feels powerful, yet fluid showcasing one of the greatest gemstones on Earth. And it reminds us that the most extraordinary beauty often comes from nature itself—we’re just here to reveal it.
What drew you to participate in the Hamptons Jewelry Show, and how does it compare to other international fairs?
ONI: The Hamptons Jewelry Show felt like a natural fit for ONI. We’re a brand deeply rooted in storytelling, cultural symbolism, and intentional design—and the Hamptons audience values craftsmanship, wellness, and authenticity, which aligns beautifully with our mission. It’s not just about selling jewelry, it’s about connecting with wearers who appreciate the deeper meaning behind each piece. The setting itself—elegant, slow-paced, and immersed in creativity—creates space for those conversations to happen.
Can you share the story behind one of the pieces you’re showcasing this year?
We are featuring an ONI pre-made set: the Maxi clip necklace, work with 3 charms, and 3 locks — coming together as a beautifully layered, chunky look. This curation brings together some of ONI’s most symbolic elements—a modular expression of ritual, nature, and transformation through our Versawear system.
The Echo Gecko embodies regeneration and resilience, a nod to our ability to evolve and begin again. The Sacred Orchid is a symbol of sensuality, devotion, and rare beauty, inspired by the orchid’s revered role in traditional medicine and sacred rituals. The Spirited Tree grounds the trio, representing wisdom, rootedness, and ancestral connection.
