Bridgehampton’s South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center (SoFo) will present a complimentary Thanksgiving Open House on Saturday, November 26th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. SoFo is the only state-of-the-art natural history museum on the South Fork of Long Island.
All are welcome and guests are asked to bring canned goods or non-perishable food items to donate to the Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor Food Pantries. Visitors will enjoy SoFo’s scientifically correct interactive nature exhibits featuring recreated habitats of ocean, dune and swale, coastal plain pond, salt marsh, and vernal pool.
There will also be large marine touch-tanks filled with sea stars, crabs, urchins, whelks, and many other sea creatures. Be sure to visit the outdoor attractions too that include Butterfly Gardens and Native Plant Gardens. All the gardens are in their fall colors and the 40-acre preserve known as the Vineyard Field, will be spectacular at this time of the year. Take a walk amongst the fall beauty through the six-mile trail system of the Long Pond Greenbelt behind the Museum.

Don’t miss the special Jason’s Live Animal & Insect Family Show from 2 to 3 p.m. featuring frogs, toads, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, mice, reptiles, birds, hermit crabs, and many other animals.
