This summer, The Watermill Center will be welcoming distinguished scholars, artists, and thinkers who were invited by Founder Robert Wilson to be part of the Center’s annual Scaler Lecture Series. The programming will span from Tuesday, August 2nd to Thursday, August 18th, and cover a range of topics across the arts and sciences.

“After last year’s phenomenally successful series which was so well attended, we’re excited to introduce the line-up for our 2016 Summer Lecture Series Program featuring informative lectures on critical topics by leading voices in the arts, sciences, and the humanities,” shared William Wagner, Managing Director of The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation. “This free public series provides the participants in our International Summer Program, as well as the community at-large, a unique venue to experience intriguing dialogue and insight into how it informs creative collaboration across disciplines.”
This year, lecturers include Kinan Azmeh (Tuesday, August 2nd), BG Muhn (Thursday, August 4th), Carl Schoonover (Tuesday, August 9th), Wesley Enoch (Wednesday, August 10th), Dr. Cornel West (Tuesday, August 16th), and Mary Ellen Carroll (Thursday, August 18th). All of these lectures are made possible by the generous support of the Scaler Foundation, and are curated by Robert Wilson and Kate Eberstadt, founder of The Hutto Project and a former International Summer Program participant.
The discussions are part of the Center’s mission to “encourage creative experimentation.” 2016 speakers will join a list of renowned innovators and experts in their respective fields that have participated in the lecture series in years past, including Nadya Tolokonnikova, Fern Mallis, Philip Glass and Tom Hennes.
Admission is free, but RSVP is required and space is limited. Lectures take place from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
