A huge benefit of living on the East End is access to locally grown produce and one of the best parts of the spring, summer and fall seasons is the opportunity to shop local and eat local by picking up an array of products and goods at North Fork and South Fork farmers markets and farmstands.

The Hayground School Farmers Market will open for the 2016 season on Friday, May 20th. The Bridgehampton-based Market has added even more vendors this year and guests can peruse through goods from over 25 Long Island-based farms and businesses.
Many find the Market incredibly convenient and use it as a one shop stop. “One thing I love about the Hayground School Farmers Market is that you can do your weekend food shopping, but also hang out, buy some pizza, and eat right there in a beautiful field,” said Carolina Agudelo of East Hampton.
2016 Hayground School Farmers Market vendors will include Wolffer Estate Vineyard, Mecox Bay Dairy, Open Minded Organics, Hamptons Brine, Peconic River Preserve, Saint James Brewery, My Paul Bakes, Joe & Liza’s Ice Cream, Carrisa’s Bread, and many more. So make sure to come hungry because we never leave without sampling at least one of the enticing items, like Hayground School’s pizza.
For some, the start of the weekend isn’t complete without a visit there. “The Hayground School Farmers Market has a real community feel and there are amazing vendors,” noted Juliana Whit of Wainscott. “I love to buy my local treats at Hayground on Fridays.”
The Market’s goal is to support local farmers/producers and the efforts of the Edible Schoolyard movement.
The Hayground School Farmers Market will be open every Friday from May 20th through September 30th from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at Hayground School.
