Stephanie Gottlieb has built one of today’s leading fine jewelry brands by reimagining how people wear, collect, and connect with jewelry. From colorful gemstone collections and personalized pieces to bespoke engagement rings and timeless everyday staples, Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry has become known for designs that celebrate life’s biggest milestones and all the moments in between.
Based in New York, the brand has developed a loyal following among clients in the Hamptons and beyond. With new collections, expanded lab-grown diamond offerings, and innovative ways to customize meaningful pieces, the brand continues to evolve while remaining focused on creating jewelry people genuinely love to wear every day.
Stephanie spoke more about the inspiration behind her brand, her approach to designing modern fine jewelry, the latest collections, styling tips for the summer season, and what’s next for Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry.
How has Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry continued to evolve, and what are you most excited about with the brand today?
SG: The brand has always evolved alongside our clients. In the beginning, many people came to us to celebrate life’s biggest milestones—engagements, anniversaries, and meaningful gifts. Today, we’re just as excited to help them celebrate everything in between.
That’s what excites me most about where we’re headed. We’re building a brand around a simple belief: life is better when you surround yourself with beautiful things that bring you joy. Jewelry just happens to be our medium.
That philosophy gives us the freedom to keep evolving—whether it’s introducing lab-grown collections, expanding personalization, or designing pieces people can truly live in every day. The products may change, but our purpose stays the same: creating beautiful, thoughtfully designed jewelry that brings confidence, self-expression, and a little more joy to everyday life.
Can you share the story behind the brand and what first inspired you to launch Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry?
SG: I didn’t grow up knowing I wanted to start a jewelry company. After college, I went to work for a diamond wholesaler in New York, and that’s where I fell in love with the industry. The more I learned about diamonds, gemstones, and fine jewelry, the more I realized how fascinating this world was—and how little most people knew about it.
At the same time, I saw a real white space. Fine jewelry often felt intimidating, exclusive, or reserved for major life events. There wasn’t much education, and there weren’t many brands inviting people into the conversation. I started using social media to share what I was learning, hoping to make jewelry feel more approachable and empowering. I wanted people to understand what they were buying, feel confident making decisions, and see fine jewelry as something to enjoy—not just something to save for special occasions.
That idea has shaped the brand from the very beginning. Yes, jewelry marks life’s biggest milestones, but it can also become part of your everyday ritual. It can add color to your wardrobe, confidence to your day, and meaning to the moments in between. That’s still what inspires me today: helping people build collections they love to wear and creating more reasons to celebrate themselves through jewelry.
How would you describe the philosophy behind your designs, and what continues to inspire each new collection?
SG: Every collection starts with the same question: How will someone actually live in this piece?
I want our jewelry to feel beautiful, but also effortless, personal, and wearable. Whether it’s a bespoke engagement ring, a colorful stack of gemstone bands, or a pair of everyday diamond earrings, the goal is always to create pieces that become part of someone’s life—not something they only reach for on special occasions.
I’m inspired by the way people express themselves through jewelry. Sometimes it’s a milestone. Sometimes it’s a memory. Sometimes it’s simply the finishing touch that makes you feel more confident walking into a room.
Your collections range from everyday essentials to bespoke engagement rings and fine jewelry. How do you approach creating pieces that feel both timeless and personal?
SG: I design for real life. I want our jewelry to be the pieces you actually wear—not the ones that sit in a box waiting for a special occasion.

The designs themselves are intentionally versatile, and the personal part comes from the person wearing it. Some clients customize a piece, some choose a meaningful gemstone or charm, and others simply make it their signature. I love creating jewelry that gives people the opportunity to make it their own.
Personalization has become a signature part of your brand. What do you enjoy most about helping clients create meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces?
SG: I love helping people tell their stories through jewelry. Sometimes a piece marks a major milestone. Sometimes it honors someone they love. Sometimes it’s simply a reminder to celebrate themselves or a chapter they’re in right now. That’s what I enjoy most about personalization. Every piece starts with the same materials, but it becomes completely unique because of the meaning the person gives it. No two stories are ever the same. To me, that’s the best part of what I do. We create beautiful jewelry, but our clients are the ones who give it lasting meaning.
What sets Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry apart in today’s luxury jewelry landscape?
SG: I think what sets us apart is that we design for real life. We work with precious materials, but we don’t believe they should be treated as too precious to wear. The most beautiful jewelry isn’t the piece sitting in a safe—it’s the one you reach for every morning because it makes you feel like yourself.
We think about the woman wearing our jewelry throughout the design process because we are her. We know she wants pieces that move effortlessly from school drop-off to the office to dinner, that layer with what she already owns, and that become part of her everyday life.
At the end of the day, we’re building a brand around the idea that life is better when you surround yourself with beautiful things that bring you joy. We just happen to express that through fine jewelry.
Are there any recent collections, launches, or collaborations that you’re especially excited to share?
SG: I’m excited because everything we’re launching right now reflects the direction the brand is headed. We’re continuing to expand our lab-grown collections, which has opened up exciting new creative possibilities and allows us to offer clients even more ways to build their jewelry wardrobes—from innovative new concepts to everyday classics.
At the same time, we’re investing heavily in our Token collection, which I see becoming one of the signature icons of our brand. The idea is simple: everyone has a different story to tell. Through individual charms and an expanding personalization experience, clients will be able to create pieces that are uniquely their own.
While the collections themselves are very different, they both support the same vision for our brand: creating beautiful jewelry that people genuinely love wearing, collecting, and making part of their everyday lives.
New York has always been an important part of your story, and many of your clients spend time on the East End. How do those places influence your style or creative perspective?
SG: I think of it less as New York versus the Hamptons, and more as the different ways we live throughout the year. There’s your everyday city wardrobe, vacation dressing, beach weekends, dinners out, celebrations, and everything in between. I love dressing for the occasion, and I think jewelry should evolve with you just like the rest of your wardrobe. That’s something we think about constantly as we design. I want our clients to have pieces that feel right for every part of their lives.
At the end of the day, we’re helping people build a jewelry wardrobe, not just buy individual pieces. The best collections are the ones that give you options, so no matter where you are or how you’re dressing, there’s always something that feels just right.
As we head into another Hamptons season, what jewelry trends, styling ideas, or must-have pieces are you loving right now?
SG: Summer is always the season where I lean into color. I love vibrant gemstone jewelry and beaded necklaces because they instantly make an outfit feel more relaxed and playful.

I’m also wearing lighter diamond bangle stacks, dainty gold layers, and pieces that can go from the beach to dinner without feeling overdressed. Summer style is a little less polished and a little more effortless, and I think your jewelry should reflect that.
What are your favorite tips for layering and styling jewelry to create a look that feels effortless from day to evening?
SG: I always start with a few everyday foundation pieces—a simple diamond necklace, a great pair of hoops or studs, and a stack of delicate bracelets or bangles. Those are the pieces that rarely come off. From there, it’s all about adding one or two layers that reflect your mood or the occasion. Maybe it’s a colorful bead necklace for daytime, a diamond tennis necklace for dinner, or a bold ear stack for a night out.
The biggest mistake people make is thinking they need to start over for the evening. I actually prefer to build on what I’m already wearing. Add a layer, swap an earring, stack another bracelet—that’s what makes a look feel effortless instead of over styled.
Looking ahead, what are your goals for the brand, and what can clients look forward to next?
SG: My goal is to continue building a brand that becomes part of people’s everyday lives. We’ll always create beautiful jewelry, but I want Stephanie Gottlieb to be known for more than individual collections. I want us to be the brand people turn to whether they’re celebrating a milestone, marking a memory, expressing their personal style, or simply adding a little more joy to an ordinary day.
Clients can look forward to more innovation across the brand—from new lab-grown collections and expanded personalization to new ways to collect and wear jewelry. But more than anything, they can expect us to continue designing with real life in mind.
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know about Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry or what’s on the horizon?
SG: There’s a lot to look forward to. We’re continuing to invest in the collections that have become signatures of the brand while expanding into exciting new directions. You’ll see more from Candy as we continue exploring color, more storytelling and personalization through our Token collection, new takes on our Slider collection, and an expanded assortment of lab-grown diamond jewelry—including both innovative designs and everyday classics.
More than anything, you can expect us to keep creating jewelry that’s beautiful, wearable, and designed to become part of your everyday life.
