Southampton Artists Association (SAA) is beginning the holiday season by presenting its Annual Thanksgiving Art Show at the Levitas Center for the Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center.
The seasonal exhibit is a great place to check out works from Long Island-based talent and start your Yuletide shopping. “As many as 40 members will take part in the show and offer their works for sale,” shared Dom Lamontanaro, PhD, SAA President. “One can see traditional oils, acrylics, mixed media, sculpted pieces, photography and various other unique presentations all at reasonable prices.”
SAA was founded in 1989 to give local artists, both professionals and amateurs, the chance to showcase their works. “Among our members are award winning professionals and dedicated artists of all styles,” noted Lamontanaro. “In addition to sponsoring four art shows a year, SAA sponsors art instructors whose classes are held in the Cultural Center.” Along with its Thanksgiving Show, SAA presents a Spring Show, Memorial Day Show, and Labor Day Show.

The organization is also committed to budding East End youth. “The group also presents a scholarship to a local senior annually and has a growing outreach program,” explained Lamontanaro. “One of our founders recently noted that she feels the organization has flowered well beyond what the founders had originally hoped for.”
The Thanksgiving Art Show is on view from Wednesday, November 18th to Sunday November 29th. An opening reception, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Friday, November 20th from 4 to 6 p.m.
