On Saturday, August 1st from 6:30 to 11 p.m., Southampton Hospital will hold their 57th Annual Summer Party. The “Fantasia” themed benefit will take place under the air-conditioned tents at Wickapogue Road in Southampton. Jean Remmel FitzSimmons will chair the event, with the support of Honorary Chair Howard Lorber, Corporate Chair Douglas Elliman, and Underwriting Chair Jean Shafiroff. Chuck Scarborough will serve as the evening’s emcee.
Tony Urrutia will transport attendees into a magical world, where the over 900 guests will enjoy an elegant dinner catered by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs and music by the Alex Donner Orchestra. “Last year we played contemporary hits and dressed relaxed and informal for the “Endless Summer” theme,” said society bandleader Alex Donner. “The year’s “Fantasia” theme is classic black and white so we’ll be playing Big Band and swing on the early side, Motown and Classic Rock in the middle and finishing up with more contemporary hits to keep people on the dance floor and for the juniors.”
The evening will also include a silent auction and raffle, which will support the longest running annual benefit on the East End.
“I’ve worked with a number of chairmen and women over the years for a number of great causes. Jean Remmel FitzSimmons is a great friend, she’s also a woman who could have run General Motors and it never would have had the problems it has,” shared Donner, who has worked together with chairwoman Jean Remmel FitzSimmons for 10 years on the benefit. “She has a creative touch, business sense and is extremely personable. Her dedication to the Southampton Hospital knows no bounds.”
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Southampton Hospital’s Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department, which is the sole provider of emergency care on the South Fork, treating more than 25,000 people annually.
Tickets start at $500 and can be purchased by calling Southampton Hospital Foundation at 631-726-8700 extension 3, emailing [email protected] or visiting www.southamptonhospital.org.
