“We decided to start with Jeremy Penn as our first Artist to have a residence on our property — Penn’s work has a beautiful blend of urban attitude with artist expression,” explained Director of Programming, Michelle Swavely, “We were drawn to his concept of creating work that reflects his interpretation of Montauk and are honored to host him this summer.”

Starting Mid-May through the end of July, artwork from New York-based modern artist, Jeremy Penn will be on display in the lobby of The Montauk Beach House. The new work from Penn will have a nautical East End feel, which was inspired by the natural aesthetic elements found around Montauk, like the ocean washing up on the sand, amazing Montauk sunsets and the reflection of the shimmering sun on a calm beach day, created using a glass glitter applique.
“The time of the framed and faded landscape prints in hotel lobbies is over, it’s time to make these walls pop,” noted Penn. The new series, “le séduction de glamour,” will include new pieces from his beloved “Hot Lips” series, which showcases bombshell Brigitte Bardot as his subject, along with a few modern sex icons from the Fashion world, like Gigi Hadid.
The Montauk Beach House wanted to bring an artistic addition to its property this summer season, and the collaboration with Jeremy Penn meshes well with the unique combination of European style and relaxed beach vibe at the Montauk spot. For the series at the Beach House, Penn decided to craft his own paint that he poured down the painting surface to recreate the natural flow of the ocean washing up on the sand.
Penn will also be creating on site poolside artwork throughout the entire collaboration. All artwork will be available for purchase and “Hot Lips” tanks and tees will also be available for purchase at the Beach House’ store.
The Montauk Beach House is located at 55 South Elmwood Avenue in Montauk. For more information, call 631-668-2112 or visit thembh.com.
