Get Glam: Bold Lips & Beautiful Eyes We Can’t Live Without

Bright pink lips and smoky eyes are still the rage, but just what are the hottest colors this season? We asked our friends in the beauty biz and after weeks of sampling, testing, trail, and error we curated a bold set of colors anyone can wear.

It takes a confident, vivacious woman to wear a bright lip or bold eye. Unless you’re Lady Gaga on a red carpet pick one area to highlight – eyes or lips. With a bold lip just swipe mascara and a black or brown liner with a hint of shimmer shadow. If the eyes have it – try a nude lip.

L’Oreal Paris Pop Balm ($7.99) in shades of Wild Lily (pink) and Electric Pink (coral) are nourishing lip blams with intense colors. Add a nude lip liner to define and shape then add a little or go all out with color. Jojoba and Shea Butter are so nourishing you’ll wear it all winter long here in the Hamptons.

We found Flower’s Kiss Me Twice ($9.98), a pink lip and cheek chubby, in our beauty closet and just love a product that can do double duty especially when one’s make-up bag is almost overflowing. A little bit goes a long way and this one has serious staying power, as a bonus the formula reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

For eyes, we fell for the gorgeous blues and sparkly greens that make brown and hazel eyes pop. L’Oreal Paris’ Colour Riche Eternal Blue quad eye shadow ($9.99) is a smoky eye waiting to happen. The long-lasting formula is very blendable so start with a little and blend, blend, blend.

From Le Metier De Beaute, we could not resist Midnight (a dark sapphire blue) and Jade (a gold flecked green) True Color eye shadows ($30). The finely milled power is made to be layered and is very blendable, a must for a great eye.

Sometimes all you need is mascara and a bit of liner. Check out Silkissime from L’Oreal Paris ($8.99) in True Teal or Blue Cobalt – both are saturated colors that even glasses can’t hide. The ultra-rich color is long lasting – as in 16-hours! – and it glides on smoothly (no skipping or tugging).

Beauty Tip: Before you take the time to layer on the color and get the liner simply perfect don’t get creased mid-way through your day (or night). Start with Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging ($24) and get glam and stay that way until dawn.
