“We are so pleased how everyone has volunteered to put this together quickly,” says Tracy Mitchell, Executive Director for Bay Street Theatre. “Our producer Gary Hygom is always willing to book and coordinate all the bands, clear sets, and do whatever it takes to make these benefit evenings happen. And Jay Schneiderman is always on the phone to me immediately following any large disaster to see if we can work together and provide support from Suffolk County residents to people in need. It’s nice to be able to help.”
So far the tentative list of bands and musicians who will perform include Joe Lauro and the HooDoo Loungers, Lola, Nancy Atlas, The Vandettas, Gene Casey, Inda Eaton, Rick Davies, Joe Delia and the Thieves, and more will be announced leading up to the concert.
The East End community has joined forces to help those in need. Crossroads Music will assist with sound gear required for the evening’s entertainment, and multiple restaurants will provide food for the bands and crew the day of the concert.
Bay Street is in the process of securing raffle items to raise additional funds. They are also looking for local residents who may have family and friends in the affected areas to join in the benefit. “The personal stories are important and we want to be sure we are supporting our neighbors and friends who may need additional support at this time,” noted Schneiderman.
