This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Sag HarborFest. The weekend long celebration of Sag Harbor’s maritime history starts on Friday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, September 8.
The festivities begin with the “HarborFest Fiesta” at the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum (200 Main Street, 631-725-0770, www.sagharborwhalingmuseum.org sagharborwhalingmuseum.org) on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. The family friendly benefit party includes an adventure area for children, tacos from the Montaco Truck, ice cream from Sylvester & Co., beer from Montauk Brewing Company, wine from Channing Daughters Winery, and music by DJ Mister Lama.
On Saturday and Sunday, stop by the Wharf for a Taste of Sag Harbor and other fun activities for all ages like face painting, karaoke, historic walking tours, tug-o-war, a lobster roll eating contest and live music.
Sunday features the famous Chowder Contest as well as the finale to the 2013 Whaleboat Races.
