Annual Hamptons Autumn Art Show To Showcase Nearly 30 East End Artists

The Southampton Artists Association’s (SAA) annual Fall Art Exhibit will debut at the Levitas Center for the Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center on Wednesday, November 4. The varied art show will remain on view through Sunday, November 29.

While SAA’s Memorial Day Show was held virtually, and the Labor Day Art Exhibit was hosted at the Levitas Center for the Arts, but without the signature opening and closing events, for this iteration, attendees will have the chance to learn more about the artwork firsthand from the featured artists.

“It’s almost business as usual, as we will be able to host a ‘Meet The Artists’ reception on Saturday, November 7,” stated SAA board member Paul Dempsey. “Our virtual shows have been a success, but as I have said before, it doesn’t quite compare to the excitement of meeting and mingling with the artists.”

The “Meet The Artists” reception will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. “We will be following all CDC guidelines for entry to the Cultural Center. Masks are mandatory and capacity will be limited to 20 people at a time,” Dempsey noted. “Once again, we look forward to opening the doors for to the community which has supported us over the years.”

The varied art show will showcase pieces from approximately 30 local East End artists – with works ranging from oils to acrylics to mixed media to sculptures to photography. Featured artists include Jean Arena-Barbieri, Ian Carson, Jody Cukier, Paul Dempsey, Matthew DiBernardo, Wilhelmina Howe, Dave Johns, Dom Lamontanaro, Danielle Leef, Marie Lombardi, Jean Mahoney, Henry Mangels, Joanna McCarthy, Jim McGarvey, Katherine Milliken, Pamela Morrison, Linda Nemeth, Eleanor O’Sullivan, Karin Osti, John Rando, Maryanne Renz, Walter Schwab, Elaine Thompson, Sophie Sejourne Neva Setlow, Frank Sofo, James Slezak, Bob Sullivan, Pamela Thomson, Maureen Travers and Pamela Vossen.

SAA is comprised of both professional and amateur artists. Along with the Fall Art Exhibit, members have the opportunity to highlight their masterpieces at the winter show in February/March, Memorial Day Show, and Labor Day Show at the SCC. The not for profit artists association also presents a collective members show at the Town Hall in Southampton during December and January, and SAA also sponsors and spearheads the annual July fine outdoor art show, Art in the Park, held at Agawam Park in Southampton. Those looking to brush up on their skills can partake in a SAA sponsored class taught by professional artists.

“Our Association is over 30 years old and seeks to sponsor and help enhance the culture of art in the local area,” relayed SAA board member James Slezak. “Southampton Artists Association serves as a point of contact for individuals with questions about the art activities in our area via our website.”

There is no fee to view the Fall Art Exhibit or attend the “Meet The Artists” reception.
