INTERVIEW: Luxury Jeweler Aaron Basha CEO, Regine Basha, Talks Montauk Beach House Pop-up

Shakir Philippeby Shakir Philippe
in Entertainment
Home Entertainment

Join luxury jeweler, Aaron Basha, for an elevated weekend of shopping their coveted pieces poolside at the Montauk Beach House on Saturday, August 1 to Sunday, August 2. This exclusive pop-up will feature top-selling pieces from the brand’s assortment of symbolic and sentimental fine jewelry.

Each piece from the NYC-based, family-owned jewelry boutique is hand-crafted and draws inspiration from notions of love, family, joy, good luck and optimism. The brand’s designs include some of the hottest trends this season, such as layerable gold chains and stackable beaded bracelets, as well as evil eye and hamsa charms – that are said to ward off negativity and provide the wearer with protective energy.

Aaron Basha is beloved by celebrities and influencers alike, including Celine Dion, DJ Khaled, Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Heidi Klum, Demi Moore, Melanie Griffith, and so many more. I spoke to CEO, Regine Basha, one of Aaron Basha’s daughters, about the success, inspiration, and future of the upscale jewelry business.

Why do you think so many celebrities embrace Aaron Basha products so passionately?

The ‘Love Is My Religion’ necklace. (Courtesy Photo)

RB: Aaron Basha’s pieces have always been timeless and associated with luxury, sentimental moments and joy. For the customer who has it all, our pieces provide more than just another piece of jewelry, they elicit an emotion. Much of Aaron Basha’s jewelry is symbolic at its core. From the baby shoes that symbolize motherhood, to the ladybugs that symbolize good luck, all the collections are meaningful.

What was the inspiration for the latest collection?

RB: The latest collection was inspired by humanity. The message of ‘love above all’ is prominent throughout. Our ‘Love Is My Religion’ necklace is based on the idea that regardless of your faith, we all believe and connect on love. Its power to unite and bring harmony is something worth worshiping.

Is it true that your pieces provide protection and get rid of negative energy? If so, how?

RB: The evil eye amulet has been a long used talisman to ward off negativity. At a time when celebrations have been reimagined and we are all feeling so vulnerable, it’s comforting to have a symbol of protection as a form of interconnectedness. If you believe something to be true then usually it manifests. Sometimes just the very thought of feeling protected and having faith can make all the difference. Energy radiates from everything, so my goal is to design jewelry that makes the wearer feel positive, and in turn, they will attract even more good vibes – we can all use that right now!

What does the future of Aaron Basha look like with the current pandemic? What can customers expect at this pop-up and beyond?

RB: I say expect the unexpected! With so much uncertainty in the retail domain what you can be certain of is that Aaron Basha will continue to produce pieces that make you smile and feel something from your heart. My current styles will also be more casual as a direct reflection of people increasingly staying at home and living a more low-key lifestyle.

We’re so excited to be bringing our designs to the Hamptons for two days only! Our pop-up at Montauk Beach House will feature the top-selling pieces from our assortment of symbolic and sentimental fine jewelry. Expect to see many of this summer’s top trends, such as layerable gold chains and stackable beaded bracelets – and of course, our evil eye and hamsa charms.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

RB: Right now is the time to be true to yourself and let who you are shine. Dressing and accessorizing is a form of expression and I challenge all to live colorfully – it’s the foundation that Aaron Basha was built on!

The Aaron Basha pop-up will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Montauk Beach House (55 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk). For more information, visit www.aaronbasha.com.

  • Nearly two years after its debut, El Verano offers a taste of upscale Mexican cuisine in a setting inspired by the charm of vacation summer homes in Mexico. Customers enter a vibrant space filled with beautiful greenery and colorful decor as they enjoy dishes rooted in the heritage of acclaimed chef Julian Medina.

Medina grew up in Mexico City, where his love for cooking first began. In pursuit of his career, he moved to New York City, where he graduated from the French Culinary Institute. Noticing a lack of refined Mexican dining in Southampton, Medina created El Verano to bring the bold flavors of his roots to the area. Blending Mexican coastal charm with rich culinary traditions, El Verano brings something new to the Southampton dining scene.

Medina shared some of his signature dishes, journey through the cooking field, and highlighted El Verano’s fresh and locally sourced ingredients that shape each creation.
