The Rescue Paw Foundation will have an adoption event at Herrick Park on Sunday, October 23rd. The event is sponsored by London Jewelers and will be an all out dog lover’s dream, but it is also going to be fun for the whole family even if you don’t want to adopt! There will be pizza and gelato trucks, excellent shopping and beautiful animals running around Herrick Park.
Pizza? Gelato? Dogs? Sign me up.
What is the Rescue Paw Foundation? It really is such a genius foundation that helps get animals rescued. It’s best to let Candy Udell, the owner of London Jewelers, explain. “Rescue Paw foundation is not a Rescue itself but works with many rescues to help find them loving homes through its adoption events. Rescue Paw supports the work of many shelters and rescues and funds boots on the ground rescuers to take the animals off the streets and the high kill shelters in Texas and get them into rescue shelters. We were able to rescue almost 1100 dogs last year. The animals are transported to our partner shelters where they find loving homes. ARF and SASF have been kind enough to take our dogs in and find them loving homes. We also work with so many local rescues to save lives as well!”
Candy is a benefactor of the foundation and her family has adopted two dogs, one from ARF and one from SASF. “There is no need to purchase a dog or a cat…any breed is available through Rescue and there are so many amazing rescues all over. By adopting an animal you save two lives…the one you are adopting and the next one coming into the empty spot waiting for their loving home.”
Candy explains further, “Rescue Paw works internationally with No Dogs Left Behind, where dogs are rescued from China, Afghanistan, Ukraine and now Spain. London Jewelers helps to sponsor the adoption events and we also sell our ‘Cause for Paws’ jewelry which helps to save a life with every single purchase! Because of this, 10,000 dogs, some cats and a couple of donkeys have been saved from a horrible fate and have found loving homes over the years!”
