A local artist relishes a chance to hang up her best works in a bright, friendly gallery – and, “what a joy” she says, it is! Rarely do local artists get a place and time to ‘put it out there’, as a solo exhibition, a personal expression without distraction.
The next best joy is the exciting moment a gallery visitor eyes a favorite, sparking ‘art lust’; and just has to have it!
Artist Ann Lombardo, residing in Water Mill, shows 40+ works exclusively at the Water Mill Museum Gallery from June 16 to July 3. Public reception is on June 25th.
Ann has worked in visual arts most of her life, first as a fashion illustrator. She took up oil painting in the representational style 17 years ago and has exhibited in local group shows. Favorite subjects include vintage and memorable still lifes and local landscapes. The works come in all sizes to purchase and take home, ‘off the wall.’
“A painting requires a little mystery, some vagueness, and some fantasy. When you always make your meaning perfectly plain you end up boring people” ― Edgar Degas
