The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) is thrilled to announce the 30th Annual “Stroll to the Sea” Dog Walk, presented by The One Nine Three Group. Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 8th, 2023, from 9 AM to 12 PM, as they embark on a delightful journey amidst the breathtaking Hamptons fall foliage. This event is not just a walk; it’s a family-friendly outing with the charm of an idyllic country fair. Its main goal? To promote responsible dog ownership and raise awareness about ARF’s incredible work.
The two-mile walk to the ocean and back will commence and conclude at the historic Mulford Farm, a gem owned by the East Hampton Historical Society, nestled in the heart of East Hampton Village. Ready to join the fun? Dog walkers can register at give.arfhamptons.org/DogWalk. Secure your spot for just $40 through pre-registration (or $50 on the day of the event). Even better, it’s absolutely FREE for children 10 and under when accompanied by a registered adult, though donations are always appreciated. Registration brochures are also available at the ARF Thrift Shop in Sagaponack. Don’t worry if you can’t make it in person – you can participate virtually from anywhere!
All registered participants will receive a complimentary event t-shirt, a stylish tote bag, and a variety of refreshments. Enjoy Starbucks coffee, Dreesen’s Famous Donuts, Goldberg’s Bagels, apples and cider from The Milk Pail, delectable dog treats, and hydrating water. The event t-shirt is adorned with original artwork by designer ISAAC MIZRAHI, and the morning will be serenaded by live music from singer/songwriter Sandy Rapp.
Following the walk, get ready for exciting contests, including “DOG/COMPANION LOOK ALIKE,” “THE POOCH WHO CAN SMOOCH,” and “STUPID PET TRICKS.” Capture memories with your furry friend at the free photo booth, and don’t miss the chance to participate in the silent and Lucky #’s auction, featuring numerous thrilling products, services, and experiences for both humans and pets.

The top fundraisers will receive fantastic prizes from local merchants, including a CSA summer share for the 2024 season at Amber Waves Farm in Amagansett, a personalized portrait of your pet by artist Carol Saxe, and an exclusive photoshoot with photographer Dee McMeekan of Dee is for Dogs. And for those who collect $250 or more in pledges, there’s a special gift courtesy of Isaac Mizrahi.
For participants who register at the $175 level or higher, an invitation awaits you to the Kick-Off Cocktail Party on Friday, October 6, from 6 to 8 PM, hosted at a private residence in East Hampton.
The highlight of the day begins at 11 AM with the dog contests and awards ceremony. The “Stroll to the Sea” festivities come to a close at 12 PM.
Founded in 1974, ARF is a leading animal rescue and adoption center on Long Island, dedicated to helping abandoned cats and dogs locally and nationwide. Beyond rescue and adoption, ARF operates a pet food pantry and offers free spay/neuter clinics for feral cats.
