ArtSprings Studio, a working artist studio and gallery, will be celebrating its Grand Opening and first exhibition, Landscape into Abstraction, with a private opening reception on Saturday, May 28th, 5 – 7pm.
Landscape into Abstraction will present the work of artist Barbara Thomas, a landscape painter in eastern Long Island for over 40 years, and run from Saturday May 28 – Sunday June 26. This exhibition is a showcase to establish ArtSprings Studio as a unique art center, continuing the history of the artist community in the Springs region of East Hampton. Springs was the creative center of the Abstract Expressionist movement, and before that an inspirational farm and fishing community where artists have practiced their craft for centuries.
ArtSprings Studio is a working artist studio open to visitors to see the creative process in action. This newly envisioned space is host to interactive art events and projects, surprise art happenings, and classes lead by Barbara, a teaching artist with over 20 years experience in leading arts institutions. ArtSprings Studio is also a gallery space featuring the work of international artists—emerging and established. Shows have distinct conceptual themes.
ArtSprings is open by private appointment visits and viewing. To visit please email [email protected] or learn more at artspringsstudio.com.
