After my experience last Fall at Marram Montauk (spoiler alert: I loved it), I’ve been keeping an eye out for what’s new at the barefoot luxury resort. I couldn’t be more excited about their latest curated experience – the Marram Marine Program – that launched this Summer to coincide with World Ocean Day
Marram’s deep reverence for nature takes center stage in its new educational marine program with SWAROVSKI OPTIK. From Memorial Day weekend through the end of the season, guests can observe Montauk’s coastal ecosystem with unparalleled clarity.
I don’t think it’s possible (or legal, or responsible) to build a hotel any closer to the water than Marram already is – BUT, you can take a deeper look and develop a deeper appreciation for the world-famous Hamptons waters. The more you know about the ocean, the more you realize how vital this ecosystem is for life in the Hamptons.
Utilizing SWAROVSKI OPTIK’s cutting-edge binoculars and stationary ST Vista scope, guests can spot seabirds, seals, and even migrating whales.
I popped over to Montauk to check out the offering, and it truly is an unmatched perspective of the ocean. Yes, there were whales breaching during my visit; while nobody can guarantee what the ocean life will do, it’s a big ocean, and the chances are good!
I’m so encouraged by Marram’s continued commitment to highlighting Montauk’s natural beauty while also organically promoting preservation and conservation efforts. So much of what makes the Hamptons special is its natural beauty, and it’s inspiring to see the resort really take a deep dive into the flora and fauna.
Collaborating with SWAROVSKI OPTIK and local marine biologist Ryan Mahoney, the program offers premium binoculars for loan and a stationary viewing scope – aiming to help educate guests on local marine life and how they can participate in conservation efforts from the property’s oceanside location.
Ryan Mahoney will lead regular sessions to teach guests about local marine life and conservation. As an expert in whale monitoring, marine mammal conservation, and ocean sustainability, Ryan will also be available to book private sessions for an even deeper dive into the Atlantic Ocean’s ecosystems. He has compiled a comprehensive guide to local wildlife, available to all guests. Those seeking a deeper connection to the sea can book private excursions with Mahoney, including guided whale-watching sessions and marine biology lessons.
Lastly, big shoutout to Javier from Marram who graciously took this photo!
