There was a time earlier in the lifetime of most sixty-something folks that the mighty drive-in movie theater played a prominent role in our social lives.
There will be many opportunities to admire some of the most imaginative, jaw-dropping pumpkin carvings in the Hamptons this year - socially distanced, of course.
"Everyone, especially adults should dress up in their most terrible costumes and enjoy a frightening tour of our historic buildings," said Tom Edmonds, director of the Southampton History Museum.
"The creativity and dedication that Quogue families put on display are delightful. We enjoy offering opportunities that engage the community and encourage connection," Susan McKenna expressed.
"While limited by current restrictions on events, this is an activity that can still occur. We are focused on ways to help our community enjoy special occasions and will continue as many traditions as we safely can," Kristy Verity noted.
I still remember separating the candy and giving my mom the apples some folks gave me. The big deal for me back then were the Babe Ruth bars!
"Running this event and the other events is just a way to give back and to support the ones who are going through treatment and honor the ones who have been taken from us and to give a hurrah to the survivors - because we all have our own journey with this breast cancer," Mahon told us.
"Seeing and hearing the responses of our candidates in debate helps us make an educated choice about whom we want to represent our interests in government," stated Barbara McClancy, chair of the League's Voter Services Committee.
"It is going to be a great day to have fun and support shelter pets. We have great raffles and prizes for contest," Kate McEntee said.
"We saw a lot of fundraisers happening and thought, what if we did something like that?" Sydney Anastasia said. "Knowing you are helping kids, even if it's something as simple as a lunch, is a good feeling."
