"We are a real estate based economy driven by our proximity to Wall Street, but we can't just be a second-home community," said Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr.

Each summer season in the Hamptons, the overall landscape changes just a little bit.

We all know house prices in the Hamptons are astronomical, but are they the highest in the country? It seems so.

"They will want to know where the money is going," said Assemblyman Thiele. "They're not going to sign a blank check to spend on water quality."

"This extraordinary and highly celebrated estate has been truly exciting to market," said Esther Paster.

Quite often we read about a "tear down house" on a valuable piece of property.

The beachside property features a private boardwalk to the beach and a 5,000-sq.ft. residence.

Every day we hear numbers that evaluate the stock market's performance, such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average or the NASDAQ Composite index.

"For Hamptons real estate, the engine that moves us is the financial world of Wall Street," said Judi A. Desiderio.

That we are in a period of political divisiveness, exacerbated by a presidential election and an opening on the Supreme Court, is one of the few issues upon which we all agree.
