"When Lisa and Richard Perry and I first dreamed up this event seven years ago, we were determined to find an organization that would use the funds in the best way," Maria Baum reflected.
Lead singer Brandon Flowers told the crowd agreeing to honor Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers during the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony was the easiest decision they've ever had to make as a group.
"The Hampton community has been incredible to our organization in the past," Jack Brewer shared.
"We live in a place, Long Island, that has the highest record of breast cancer in the United States," Gala Chair Jean Shafiroff told the room. "And Julie has made it her business to help tackle that problem with her sister in honor of all of the women and men who suffer from this terrible disease."
"After a 20-year friendship, I approached Bergé with my idea for a laboratory for the arts on Long Island: The Watermill Center. Bergé was the first to give a major contribution in support of the purchase of the building," Robert Wilson told Hamptons.com.
"Having her Deepness, Dr. Sylvia Earle present one of my heroes, Dr. Carl Safina my Presidential award is a great honor, and with Christie Brinkley hosting our reception, and Alexandra Richards DJing at a world class venue on the beach, it seriously couldn't get any better!" Dr. Scarlett Magda shared.
