The Choral Society of the Hamptons is proud to present Lux Perpetua Luceat Eis: Let Everlasting Light Shine On Them. The concert will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of East Hampton on Sunday, March 30 at 5:30pm. In addition to its own members, the Choral Society will be joined by professional soloists Lily Arbisser, soprano, and Stan Lacy, baritone, and accompanied on organ by Peter Ludlow and a string chamber ensemble under the direction of Song-A Cho.
The program features the Fauré Requiem and two works by Franz Liszt, Pater Noster and Ave Maria. Guest Conductor Kinga Cserjési had this to say about the program, “In our lives we are in a hurry, sometimes moving too fast, and it’s good to slow down from time to time. The Choral Society of the Hamptons offers an hour of contemplative music by Franz Liszt and Gabriel Fauré to help calm and reflect during this quiet time of year.”
Choral Society Executive Director Maria Fumai Dietrich shares her excitement for the concert, “Audiences can expect to feel transported while listening to the 70-minute program. Music does that.. transports us, heals us, brings us together. And this concert has the potential to do all of that.” She continues, “This is our second concert under the baton of Guest Conductor Kinga Cserjési, and we are delighted to be working with her again. The chorus benefits from her rehearsal technique,s and I cannot wait to hear how it all comes together on March 30. ”
