Leading up to Halloween get into the holiday spirit with fun festive Hamptons events like pumpkin decorating, daring to be scared at a haunted house and watching classic spooky films.
1. Guild Hall (158 Main Street, East Hampton, 631-324-0806, www.guildhall.org) is hosting a pumpkin decorating workshop on Saturday, October 26. Pumpkins are included, so choose an artistic design and don’t worry about the little ones because no carving is involved at this workshop.
2. The Suffolk Theater (118 East Main Street, Riverhead, 631-727-4343, suffolktheater.com) is screening the Mel Brooks’ classic “Young Frankenstein” on Friday, October, 25. Enjoy dinner, a movie and lots of laughs during the comedy starring Gene Wilder.
3. The 19th Annual Frankenstein Follies is returning to Bay Street Theatre (1 Bay Street, Sag Harbor, 631- 725-9500, www.baystreet.org). Stages, A Children’s Theatre Workshop, Inc. will perform the Halloween-themed musical starting Friday, October 25, through Sunday, October 27.

4. The VOODOO (Field Of Horrors) Haunted House is not for the faint of heart. Located at Patty’s Berries & Bunches (410 Sound Avenue, Mattituck, 516-521-7256, www.nobodyissafe.com), enter if you dare Friday, October 18, through Sunday, October 20, and Friday, October 25, through Sunday, October 27.
5. Southampton Youth Services (1370A Majors Path, Southampton, 631-702-2425, www.sysinc.org) is hosting a night of spooktacular on Friday, October 25. Take your chances navigating the Haunted Path then stay to play during Sports & Rec Night. On Saturday, October 26, bring the kids back to Southampton Youth Services for Trunk Or Treat. Come in costume and decorate the trunk of a car, then trek from car trunk to car trunk to trick-or-treat.
6. Was there witchcraft in the Hamptons? Find out at the Southampton Historical Museum (17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton, 631-283-2494, www.southamptonhistoricalmuseum.org) lecture, Goody Garlick: The Story of an East Hampton Woman Accused of Witchcraft on Thursday, October 24.

7. Hike the dark and eerie Quogue Wildlife Refuge (3 Old Country Road, Quogue, 631-653-4771, quoguewildliferefuge.org) trails during the 20th Annual Spooky Walk on Saturday October 19, Friday October 25, and Saturday October 26.
8. For more Halloween history in the Hamptons head to the Bridgehampton Museum (2368 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton, 631-537-1088, www.bhmuseum.org) for an exhibit at the William Corwith House featuring the unique collection of Bridgehampton’s late Jack Musnicki as well as other artifacts which depict the history of the holiday. The exhibit opens Saturday October, 26, and is open through November.
9. Join Amagansett Free Library (215 Main Street, Amagansett, 631-267-3810, www.amaglibrary.org) for Halloween-y Story and Craft Time on Saturday, October 26. Hair-raising stories will be told and then get ready to craft.
