Olympic Winners Set To Run In Annual Shelter Island 10K

The 35th Annual Shelter Island 10K, sponsored this year by designer and author Jonathan Adler, is a summer highlight that will guide participants through the picturesque views of the tiny island on Saturday, June 21, 2014, with a pre-sunset start time of 5:30 p.m. Runners will be given Jonathan’s Americana inspired t-shirt to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the race, and additional shirts will be sold for $25 to raise funds for charity beneficiaries.

Along will 2,500 runners, Boston Marathon winner and Olympic Silver Medalist Meb Keflezighi and Olympic legend Joan Benoit Samuelson will participate in this year’s race, which has been named by Runner’s World magazine as one of the country’s most beautiful tracks.

This years beneficiaries include East End Hospice, the Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch and the Shelter Island Run Community Fund. Additional sponsors include Jonathan Adler, Shelter Island Environmental, South Ferry Co., Hampton Jitney, Jet Blue Airways, and Hamptons.com.
