Hampton Bays Lions Club Holding 4th Annual Over The Bridge 10K Run And 5K Run/Walk

On Saturday, September 13, 2014, join the Hampton Bays Lions Club for a scenic run or walk with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Shinnecock Inlet, and the Shinnecock Bay during the 4th Annual Over The Bridge 10K Run And 5K Run/Walk.

The race begins at Warner’s Park, and goes east along Dune Road and the Shinnecock Inlet, and then heads west along Dune Road, north over the Ponquogue Bridge, north on Light House Road, north on Foster Avenue, west on Shinnecock Road, north on Ponquogue Avenue and ends at ball field behind Hampton Bays Middle School.

Registration is from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at the Hampton Bays Middle School (70 Ponquogue Avenue, Hampton Bays). After registering, participants will be bused to the starting line at Warner’s Park on the South Side of the Ponquogue Bridge. The race begins promptly at 9 a.m.

The Hampton Bays Lions Club has been supporting charitable organizations in Hampton Bays and East Quogue since 1948. They contribute to college scholarships for local high school students, raise money for local churches, library, and they also donate to the Dominican Sisters, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. The Lions Club’s main focus is to raise money and awareness for those who are sight and hearing impaired as well as those in need of guide dogs.

The entry fee is $25 in advance, $30 on race day, and $10 for children 14 and under $10. The event will take place rain or shine.
