Councilwoman Christine P. Scalera Holding 2015 Great East End Clean-Up

Living in the picturesque, seaside located Hamptons, we all know how important it is to take care of the environment around us. On Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th, Councilwoman Christine P. Scalera is holding the 2015 Great East End Clean-Up to tidy up some of the locations that we all love to spend time at.

Individuals or community groups can select an area of public property like a beach, park, trail, or roadside that is in need of a little spring cleaning. Participants must complete the registration form online, or return it by mail to the Great East End Clean-Up coordinator by Monday, April 13th, and then come ready to spruce up the area on the clean up dates. The selected site must be publicly maintained.

Southampton Town will provide the garbage bags and a free pass to the Town recycling centers to dispose of the collected waste. A limited number of pick sticks are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Clean-up attendees can pick up the materials on Monday, April 13th, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hampton Bays Community Center (25 Ponquogue Avenue, Hampton Bays), Monday, March 16th through Friday, April 17th, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, Citizens’ Response Center (116 Hampton Road, Southampton) or Monday, March 16th through Friday, April 17th, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the North Sea Transfer Station office (1370 Majors Path, North Sea).

Participants are asked to keep all plastic grocery bags collected during the clean-up in a separate garbage bag for recycling.
