“This event enables SoFo and the other groups to reach out to the community with educational activities and nature walks that hopefully will enrich the lives of many people, especially our children,” said Frank Quevedo, the Executive Director South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo).
On Saturday, May 2nd from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., several East End organizations are coming together to celebrate the environment during the 6th annual Peconic Family Fun Day, sponsored by Hamptons.com. Held at Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE), the morning will reunite children with nature as experts educate attendees about East End ecosystems, estuaries, and environments.

The event will feature a variety of activities created to promote water management, agricultural sustainability, recycling, and environmental stewardship. Attendees can play games, meet live animals, stop by the arts and crafts stations, partake on a nature walk, visit the seed planting station, taste test, listen to music, and more. East End organizations taking part in Peconic Family Fun Day include Amaryllis Farms, the Bridgehampton Marimba Band, the Children’s Museum of the East End, ECCO Farm, Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt, Group for the East End, Peconic Land Trust, Ross School, the South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo), Southampton Hospital’s Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center, and Sylvester Manor Educational Farm.
