On Saturday, October 10th, get ready for some holiday weekend fun at Southampton Youth Services (SYS) during their Family Fun Day, which will support the George and Annette Benedict Scholarship Fund.

“Family Fun Day is the best day of the year here at SYS,” said Sharon O Wood, Marketing Director of Southampton Youth Services. “We have the opportunity to showcase the facility and provide an awesome day for families.”
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., families can take advantage of entertainment for all ages, like giant inflatables, arts and crafts, carnival games with prizes, face painting and glamour tattoos. Watch in awe as Tricky Business from East Meadow create magic right in front of your eyes as they twist and morph balloons into amusing characters. The afternoon will also showcase several live demonstrations including karate, gymnastics and fencing. When the family gets tuckered out and needs a little break, attendees can pick up something from Sabrosa Mexican Grill, Beach Treats Ice Cream or other carnival snacks.
“We are so grateful that with the help of sponsors we have never had to charge admission for children 12 and under, making it a day that families can come out and have a great time and not break the bank,” noted Wood. “In addition we are able to raise money for the scholarship fund so kids who are less fortunate can enjoy our programs year round.”
From 12 to 1 p.m., SYS Executive Director Scott Johnson will be shooting hoops for a cause during a ScholarShots Fundraiser. Proceeds from pledges for every foul shot Johnson makes throughout the hour will also benefit the SYS scholarship fund.
The George and Annette Benedict Scholarship Fund provides those in need with access to SYS’s programming throughout the year. Last year, the Fund awarded over $34,000 in scholarships, allowing underserved students to take part in programs like the Kidz Club After School Program, school break camps, dance classes and the Future Stars Sports Camps.
Admission to Family Fun Day is free for kids 12 and under, $5 for teens and $10 for adults. The first 100 hundred Family Fun Day children attendees will receive a free Family Fun Day t-shirt.
