Hamptons Organizations Teaming Up For Free Fall Health Fair

“There are many in our community who still do not have access to regular medical care,” noted Sheila Rogers, director of the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation. “Through our series of free community health fairs, the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation in partnership with Southampton Hospital is able to provide free health screenings, flu shots and access to a variety of East End healthcare resources and services.”

On Friday, October 2nd, the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation and Southampton Hospital are co-sponsoring “Pink Friday,” a community health fair in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., attendees can learn about early breast cancer detection and prevention, receive a free flu shot and free health screenings (cholesterol, blood pressure, HIV, and colorectal), take part in a stress relief circle, or make an appointment for no-cost mammogram and pap tests (for uninsured women over the age of 40).

“Our annual ‘Pink Friday’ health fair provides vital information on the early detection and prevention of breast cancer,” explained Rogers. “We’re pleased to sponsor this community event every October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”

Fairgoers will also have the chance to talk with health insurance representatives and a nutrition educator, as well as learn about East Hampton Town’s Human Services programs, the HRHCare program, The Retreat’s services, the Tick-Bone Disease Resource Center at Southampton Hospital, the PSEG Long Island Residential Energy Affordability Partnership Program, and food stamps.

“Pink Friday” will be held at the Most Holy Trinity School.
