2015 marked a record-breaking year for the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF). “ARF is extremely proud of its accomplishments in 2015 and it truly does take a village,” shared Jamie Berger, Director of Marketing & Communications at Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc.
Last year the Wainscott-based animal shelter rescued 1,477 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies and brought the animals to ARF to await adoption, 1,000 of which were saved from certain death. The organization helped find 1,397 animals (271 kittens, 90 cats, 630 puppies and 406 dogs) a loving home, an 11 percent increase from the previous year. To aid in the fight against the growing number of homeless, feral and stray cats, they participated in the Operation Cat Program, using the effective trap/neuter/return strategy (TNR) on 2,303 animals.
ARF also completed their new Medical Wing Transport Center, a project that featured two new isolation rooms, new epoxy flooring, a modular T-Kennel system, a new drainage system, a walk-in bathing tub, washer/dryer and food-prep area. And, they hosted their most success summer gala to date, raising over $500,000.
“We are super thankful for our adopters, donors, rescue partners and volunteers, with whom these achievements are made possible,” added Berger. “We look forward to doing more life saving work in 2016.”

ARF was founded in 1974, and each year the animal shelter helps find a forever home for more than 1,000 cats and dogs. The organization is dedicated to actively rescuing cats and dogs, providing quality care for shelter animals and offering a safe haven until they find their perfect match.
