Sag Harbor Partnership Celebrates Hugely Successful Inaugural Party For The Park Event

Sag Harbor toasted to itself this weekend with its debut Party for the Park benefit, planned by the Sag Harbor Partnership, which invited community members, public leaders, and local restaurants and wineries to come together to rejoice in what makes Sag Harbor so special.

The event took place on Sunday, July 10th, on the Sag Harbor Long Wharf, and had everything from locally made lemonade and cookies to delicious sushi and sandwiches. In addition to the delicious food, the event featured drinks from wineries in the area, and fantastic live music from Hoodoo Loungers, which guests enjoyed under the big tent with a beautiful view of the harbor. Attendees were also invited to place a bid on artwork that had been displayed earlier in the day via an electronic bidding system from Paddle8.

Baron’s Cove was the biggest donor for the community wide fundraiser, gaining an “Out of the Park!” status, and received many thanks from the planners and band alike for their support of the community. Other donors for the event included Bridgehampton National Bank, Sunny and Abe Rosenberg Foundation, Eric Fischl, Carol Ostrow and Michael Graff, who gained “Through the Roof!” status, and Bulgin & Associates, Judi Caron, Susan Lacy, Carol and Ray Merritt, Susan Mead, who were “The Big Tent” status donors. Additionally, many of the “Pillars of the Community” and “Sag Harbor Stakeholder” level donors were in attendance at the event.

In addition to the food and music, there were many family friendly options, such as face painting, puppet shows, and bubble blowing. For the more adventurous guests, the Wildlife Rescue Center trainers brought their resident red tailed hawk and great horned owl to the celebration, giving partygoers a chance to look at the birds up close and personal.

The event was an overall success, as guests enjoyed the fun events and beautiful view, while raising money to preserve the community which was being celebrated!
