Once again, Southampton Hospital will embrace the season of giving by presenting its annual Fall Food Drive, which benefits Human Resources of the Hamptons (HRH). Now leading up to just days before Christmas, the Hospital is accepting donations of non-perishable food items that they will donate to the Southampton-based organization’s food pantry.
“Southampton Hospital has a long history of caring for those in the communities we serve,” said Robert Chaloner, the Hospital’s President and CEO. “Supporting Human Resources of the Hamptons, as we continue to do each year, is an extension of this tradition.”
The Southampton Hospital is asking the East End community to help them pay it forward and spread some seasonal cheer during the holiday season by supporting those who have hit a rough patch and are struggling to get by.
“During the winter season, employment is scarce and the need for food and warm clothing increases,” noted Chaloner. “Please take this opportunity to donate non-perishable food items for those in need.”

All non-perishable food items should be brought to the donation bin in the Hospital’s Cafeteria, which is located in the basement of the building. Donations can be dropped off through Thursday, December 22nd.
In addition to the Fall Food Drive, Southampton Hospital supports the Human Resources of the Hamptons by organizing a team of employees, volunteers, family, and friends that collect funds for and participate in HRH’s December Polar Bear Plunge at Coopers Beach in Southampton.
More than 350 families are enrolled in Human Resources of the Hamptons’ food distribution program, making it the largest distribution program on the East End of Long Island. HRH gives out both non-perishable food items and fresh produce that is grown on local farms. During the holiday season, registered Food Pantry clients receive a turkey, fresh fruit, vegetables and the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal, and in December, clients receive another holiday food box, as well as a toy and new clothing for each child.
