Hamptons-Based Animal Rescue Hosting Annual Pet Celebration

Whether you adopted your fur baby from Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) or elsewhere, you and your four legged friend are invited to ARF Adoption Center on Saturday, May 5 to celebrate adoption and man’s best friend or your feline companion during ARF’s annual Alumni Reunion and Pet Celebration Day.

“The pet loving public is encourage to attend this free morning of fun at the Adoption Center,” shared Jamie Berger, Director of Marketing & Communications at ARF. “Whether it’s with their former ARFan or not, all are welcome, especially those who have adopted at sato (mutt/street dog from Puerto Rico) from ARF.”

Dogs (on leashes) and cats (in carriers) can make a new bestie, test out the agility course, enjoy treats – made from real ingredients – from Ollie Dog Food, compete in a variety of entertaining contests, have a portrait done by artist/author Carol Saxe, whose book, Privileged Pups, will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting ARF and participate other pet friendly happenings. Their owners can learn more about their beloved pet during “Ask the Behaviorist” with Dr. Barbara Pezzinate, listen to live music from Sandy Rapp, relax with coffee donated by Hampton Coffee Company and freshly made donuts from the Dreesen’s Donut Truck, and more.

ARF is hoping that many of the satos (Puerto Rican street dogs) rescues will join the party, as rescuer Leo Roubian of Barks of Hope in Rincon, Puerto Rico, who helped bring 200 animals to safety on Long Island, will be in attendance.

“We are so excited that Leo Roubian, our rescue partner from Barks of Hope in Rincon, Puerto Rico will be our special guests and that she can meet her rescues with their new families!” Berger added.

The Perfect Earth Project will be onsite offering advice on toxin-free gardening and to chat about their new “Protect Your Pet” campaign and “kicking the toxic lawn chemical habit.”

Even though ARFans may have new names or changed a bit in appearance, ARF staff always places them and revels in the chance to catch up and see them with their forever families.

Alumni Reunion and Pet Celebration Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Admission is free.
