Aviation Enthusiasts To Gather At East Hampton Airport For “Just Plane Fun Day”

The East Hampton Aviation Association will host the third annual “Just Plane Fun Day” at the East Hampton Airport in Wainscott on Saturday, September 7.

“Just Plane Fun Day is an open house day at the East Hampton Airport that will showcase static displays of classic aircraft such as Waco biplanes, vintage warbirds such as a Mustang P-51, modern turboprops and jets such as a M600 and a Cessna Citation, and many other unique airplanes like an Italian Marchetti and a sporty Cirrus VisionJet,” Kathryn Slye, East Hampton Aviation Association Vice President, shared. “There will be gourmet local food trucks, including Noah’s on the Road, Eat Me Drink Me, Around The Fire, and Frostie’s.”

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a selection of exceptional classic aircrafts, vintage warbirds, modern jets, and many other extraordinary and historically monumental airplanes will be on display for all to admire. The event is centered around “flight, fellowship, fun, education, and the opportunity to inspire the next generation of aviators and aviation enthusiast.”

The event will also offer something special for car aficionados. “We will also have small concurrent car show that will display car models from as early as the 1920’s,” Slye noted.

“Raffles will be available for purchase and guests will have a chance at winning aviation prizes,” Slye added.

Admission and parking for Just Plane Fun Day are free.The rain date will be Sunday, September 8.

“We invite everyone to come and enjoy a day of fun for the whole family and support the local airport at Just Plane Fun Day!” she concluded.

East Hampton Aviation Association was established “to represent the interests of local general aviation and historic plane enthusiasts including pilots, owners, and operators of aircraft at the East Hampton Airport,” which has been in operation since the 1930s.
