Airing of the Quilts
The Third Annual Airing of the Quilts at Duck Creek will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025. This beloved community tradition invites the public to bring their quilts to display on the grounds and share personal stories. This year’s Airing will highlight the log cabin pattern, extending the exhibition’s themes of history, home, and shared narrative into the open air.
Artists and organizers Louise Eastman and Erica-Lynn Huberty lead a tribute to the Log Cabin Quilt. With its signature red center square representing the hearth, the Log Cabin Quilt has long been a symbol of refuge and belonging.
Come over and hang your quilt from 9:00 – 11:00 AM and collect it by 5:00 PM. Treasured quilts should be monitored. All quilts must be tagged with name, phone, and email.
CONTRIBUTE TO OUR COMMUNITY QUILT: To create a 15 ½” Log Cabin quilt square, start with a 3 ½” red center square, symbolizing the heart of the home. For the surrounding strips, you may use any colors, patterns, or styles—whether scrappy or precise, however you find joy in making! The only requirements are the size and red center; everything else is up to your creativity! If you’d like a pattern, email [email protected].
Rain date: Sunday, May 18.
